Oleksandr Oleksandrovych Potapov – Head of the Department, MD, PhD, Professor. In 1985 he graduated from Ivano-Frankivsk Medical Institute. He worked as a neurosurgeon at Sumy Regional Clinical Hospital; in 1989-1992 he studied at clinical residency and postgraduate school of medical education. In 1992 Oleksandr Potapov passed PhD defense. Since 1995 he has been working as a lecturer, an associate professor and the Chief of the Neurological Surgery Course. In 2002 Oleksandr Potapov defended his doctoral thesis entitled “Disorders of Coagulation System and Anticoagulation System in Craniocerebral Trauma” and obtained the academic title of Professor. He is the author of 130 scientific publications and study guides. He is a physician of the highest category.
