Library provision for the disciplines “Fundamentals of Clinical Practice in Mental Health (mhGAP)” and “Foundations of Mental Health (mhGAP)”

Sincere gratitude is extended to Iryna Hryhorivna Mudrenko, Professor of the Department of Neurosurgery and Neurology at the Medical Institute of Sumy State University, for the donation of mental health publications to the library.

These volumes will serve as a vital resource for the comprehensive academic provision of the courses “Fundamentals of Clinical Practice in Mental Health (mhGAP)” and “Foundations of Mental Health (mhGAP),” thereby facilitating the enrichment of knowledge and the development of professional competencies among students.

The publications were provided by the Regional Development Agency of the Sumy Region with the support of the international humanitarian organization MdM-Greece (Médecins du Monde Greece), which implements educational and training programs in the field of mental health. MdM-Greece systematically assists Ukrainian universities in integrating the mhGAP program into the educational process at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

We express our appreciation to our partners for their support of educational initiatives and the expansion of the library’s collection.

The Mental Health Gap Action Programme (mhGAP) is a World Health Organization initiative designed to enhance the accessibility of mental health services. Implemented in Ukraine since 2019, the program trains general practitioners and other healthcare professionals to provide care for individuals experiencing depression, stress-related disorders, PTSD, suicidal behavior, and other prevalent mental health conditions.
