{"id":29406,"date":"2025-07-10T10:27:50","date_gmt":"2025-07-10T08:27:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/neuro.med.sumdu.edu.ua\/?p=29406"},"modified":"2025-12-31T10:30:22","modified_gmt":"2025-12-31T08:30:22","slug":"phd-student-of-the-department-completes-three-year-international-research-program-supported-by-nimh-and-fogarty-international-center","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/neuro.med.sumdu.edu.ua\/en\/phd-student-of-the-department-completes-three-year-international-research-program-supported-by-nimh-and-fogarty-international-center\/","title":{"rendered":"PhD Student of the Department Completes Three-Year International Research Program Supported by NIMH and Fogarty International Center"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Oksana Cherevko, a PhD student at the Department of Neurosurgery and Neurology, with Courses in Psychiatry, Narcology, Medical Psychology, and Occupational Diseases, has successfully completed a three-year training program under a prestigious international project at the Academic and Research Medical Institute of Sumy State University.<\/p>\n<p>The project, titled &#8220;Building Research Capacity and Implementing Evidence-Based Trauma-Focused Therapy for PTSD and Psychological Trauma Following Mass Violence in Ukraine 2023-2025&#8221;, is funded by the Fogarty International Centre D43 and the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) of the United States.<\/p>\n<p>During the program, Oksana Cherevko acquired advanced theoretical and practical skills in:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Evidence-based psychopharmacotherapy and psychotherapy for PTSD<\/li>\n<li>Prolonged Exposure (PE) therapy<\/li>\n<li>Written Exposure Therapy (WET)<\/li>\n<li>Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As part of the initiative, she was awarded a research fellowship for an internship at Texas A&amp;M University.
