From April 12 to April 18, 2026, Dmytro Sotnikov, Associate Professor of the Department of Neurosurgery and Neurology at the Academic and Research Medical Institute of Sumy State University, actively participated in a prestigious seminar on Rehabilitation Medicine organised by the Open Medical Institute in Salzburg, Austria.
This year’s scientific and educational event brought together 35 leading specialists from 27 countries worldwide. The seminar featured lectures delivered by prominent neurologists and rehabilitation medicine experts from the United States of America and Austria.
The comprehensive program of the seminar covered a wide range of topical issues in modern medicine, presenting high-level lectures on:
- Advanced approaches to the rehabilitation of patients with spine and joint pathologies;
- Specific features of rehabilitation management in oncological patients;
- Contemporary protocols for the diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis.
During the session meetings, Associate Professor Dmytro Sotnikov honourably represented Sumy State University by presenting a report on his personal clinical experience in treating intervertebral disc herniations complicated by nerve root compression. The presented findings sparked active discussion and were highly commended by international colleagues.
Participation in events of such calibre significantly contributes to the integration of scientists from the Academic and Research Medical Institute of Sumy State University into the global medical community and fosters the implementation of advanced international rehabilitation standards into Ukrainian clinical practice.
